InterBOARD® Optical Media Converter Pigtailed

The Optical Media Converter (OMC) provides full-duplex four-channel electrical-electrical connectivity over distances up to 300 meters using multimode optical fiber.

The OMC offers direct connectivity with 10 Gigabit Ethernet CX4 (XAUI), DDR/SDR/QDR Infiniband™, 4 x OC-48 SONET, multi-lane PCI Express, 10 Gigabit Fibre Channel, as well as proprietary backplane interconnections.

Employing Reflex Photonics’ next generation LightABLE™ packaging technology, the OMC enables extremely high feature-integration and functionality, designed to meet the harshest external operating conditions including temperature, humidity and EMI interference.

By using media detection circuitry at the host board’s connector, one can swap between the OMC and standard electrical cabling, offering ultimate flexibility at no additional cost.
